Regional policies on dairy and seed sectors

One of the additional case studies being carried out is on processes leading to harmonisation and rationalisation of regional policies on the seed trade and on dairy marketing. These are both areas which the Eastern and Southern Africa Programme for Agricultural Policy Analysis has been actively working.

Through discussions with key informants at meetings of regional stakeholders in these processes, a simple analysis has been made on key influences and events leading to changes in regional policies.

This case study represents an interesting contrast with the national level policy change process in Kenya and the local level policy change process in Kampala.
